Super Sleuth (Cybercrime) Speeches

An introductory insight into Cyber Crime – Legislative significance towards the regulation of the cyber space and the principles of privacy – The affections of new technologies upon professionals One of the many objectives of this event is to raise awareness of the present and potential effects and opportunities relating to cyber crime and identity theft. Cyber crime is a fast-growing area of crime. More and more criminals are exploiting the speed, convenience and anonymity of the Internet to commit a diverse range of criminal activities. We look to inform our guests of the effects and solutions that can be brought about in this area. GEEKLAW addresses the challenges facing the modern economy by building on the education already offered to students. The pace of technological development in the world is unprecedented, meaning modern professionals will need not only a strong understanding of the law as it currently stands but also a thorough understanding of how technology will shape the legal profession in the years to come. Speakers: Professor Ross Anderson (Cambridge), Professor Fred Piper (Royal Holloway), Dr Bela Chatterjee (Nottingham), Professor Mark Ryan (Birmingham) Find out more about the event ans GEEKLAW: http://www.unigeeklaw.co.uk/?page_id=15&event=290891
